Further technical improvements drastically increased the predictability of the outcomes and created a feasible form of treatment of myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia. In this process, using a microkeratome a corneal flap is cut, the shape is corrected and placed back in its place. The quick healing nature induced by the flap decreases the healing period and hence gained a lot of popularity amongst the patients who are trying to hang up their glasses forever worldwide.
