Dr Varada Gokhale completed her post-graduation in Ophthalmology followed by fellowship from Sankara Nethralaya Chennai. She was a Consultant at renowned L V Prasand Eye Institute, Vishakhapatnam. Currently she is a Medical Directorof Madhav Netralaya eye Institute and Research Centre, Nagpur. Dr Varada Gokhale has been honoured with this prestigious Late Shushma Swaraj award for her remarkable work in the medical field.

 

Her research works have been presented at various international and national colloquiums as well as Young Researchers Award session at All India Ophthalmology conference and have also been published in reputed journal. She has received many awards by National and Local Ophthalmology societies for best case presentations and clinical photos. She has been invited as a speaker in many national conferences and CMEs. She has received travel grants for American Association of ophthalmology conference 2020 and also she has been awarded Vidarbh Ophthalmology Society’s ‘VOSCON 2016 International Travel Fellowship Award' at Eye spire Jan 2024. She is a reviewer for many national scientific journals.

 

Under her leadership Madhav Netralaya was awarded for excellence in ‘Health care’ and also received certificate of Honor for service with dedication, honesty and empathy towards citizens of India from DFL awards 27th Aug 2023
