SAKSHAM & Madhav Netralaya conduct eye check-up camp 1500 students studying in schools run by NMC benefited
 
Madhav Netralaya (Eye Institute & Research Centre) Nagpur, a state of art eye hospital in Central India and SamadrishtiKshamataVikas Evam Anusandhan Mandal (SAKSHAM), a charitable organization working for all-round development of physically and mentally challenged persons had jointly organized free eye check-up camps.
 
About 1,500 students are studying in schools being run by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) situated in Hanuman Nagar Zone.
 
The free eye check-up camps were held particularly for school children in the age group of 6 to 18 years belonging to the weaker sections of the society.
 
About 100 children were diagnosed with eye problems and were advised spectacles by optometrists of Madhav Netralaya.
 
The spectacles were sponsored by Rotary Club of Nagpur West and about 50 students who had other vision problems were referred to Madhav Netralaya for further free treatment and surgery. Mrs. Vrinda Pitale (Executive Member of Madhav Netralaya Trust), Mr. Ramanand Kelkar (Project Incharge of SAKSHAM Low Vision Centre), Mrs. Surekha Darwhekar (Secretary of SAKSHAM Low Vision Centre) and other members of SAKSHAM worked hard for the success of the camps.
